This software works in full with all MiniSonic firmware versions, but users are strongly recommended to obtain the latest firmware chip from Lindos. LA100 users who purchased their units before 1st of January 2004 will find that this software runs in demonstration mode (only crosstalk is available). For full LA100 operation a license must be purchased (£ 250 ) from Lindos and the userkey file downloaded.

Download the latest Lin4Win licence key file to allow your copy of the software to work with all currently licensed LA100 units. This is not needed for MiniSonic or DigiSonic units as they are all supplied with a software licence.

Once you have purchased a license your unit's serial number will be included in the userkey file. This flexible system allows you to enable any computer, anywhere, anytime for use with any registered units. Download the key file using the link above and save to C:\Program Files\Lin4Win\UserKey.dat in Windows XP and earlier (C:\Users\Chris\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Lin4WinXP\ for Windows 7 onwards) or click 'Download UserKey' from the 'Online' menu in Lin4Win.

The MiniSonic MS1/MS10, MS20, DigiSonic and LA100 Audio Analysers can operate either as convenient stand-alone units or under computer control. By running the Lin4Win PC software supplied with every unit the user benefits from a clear control panel which displays both channels on large bar graphs as well as digital readouts to 0.01dB resolution. Lin4Win automatically detects which unit is being used and configures the available features accordingly. Great attention has been paid to making Lin4Win load and run quickly, so that it behaves more like a hardware unit than a piece of software.

Sequence results can be read from the measuring set to display a detailed results page (the same is produced through direct printing from an LA100). Scalable graphs of frequency response and the ability to cut and paste results allows the user to easily produce their own in-house reports in what ever DTP package they choose. Results can be printed, saved to disk and even uploaded to our Test Sheet Database.

The Lindos hardware test sets are controlled via a serial connection. For computers without a serial port USB to serial adapters are available.

The DigiSonic is a Windows application that provides all of the features (and more) of our hardware test sets in software. Communication with Lin4Win is over a TCP/IP link, which can be local (on the same machine), over a local network (in the same building) or remote (over the internet).

  • Full sequence support for all Lindos test sets.

  • Tolerances can be applied directly to any set of results. There is no limit to the number definable and for those performing regular pass/ fail testing this feature really speeds things up.

  • Procedure Testing, which allows a series of measurements logged automatically, and compliments Sequence testing. While the latter is best suited to the measurement of signal paths that are nominally flat, and provides automatic synchronisation over long paths between different measuring sets, Procedures are for detailed bench testing on equipment, for development purposes or routine quality control. The user sets up a series of measurements in a table, and clicks Run to log the results.

  • Recording controls allows a series of rapid measurements of the currently selected function to be made. A graph of the incoming level against time can also be displayed for monitoring peaks on music etc.

  • 20 Preset keys for output frequency and level, all programmable by the user.

  • Repeating sweeps quickly update allowing the user to experiment without having to re-run a sweep after each change.

  • Programmable Tone bursts

  • Graphs options allowing complete customisation for all graphs.

  • Publish results to our online test sheet database or save them in HTML format with the click of a button.

  • Metafile output allows the graphs to be saved in vector format for scaling to any size.

  • SyncLink - a continuous data stream format that is sent 110 times a second by the DigiSonic and MiniSonic test sets that tells Lin4Win everything about the state of the unit (function selected, relative level set etc) as well as updating the display fast enough for use as a PPM and limited only by the refresh rate of the PC's monitor and processor speed. Both sets of keys; those on the unit and those on the control panel, and both displays, remain active, so either can be used. The TCP-IP/serial connection can be connected and disconnected at any time, and the software locks on within about a second; no waiting for egg-timers!

  • Remote control over a network can be set up simply by specifying an IP address.
